The Spain international has found his first-team opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge since Maurizio Sarri took over the reins of the west London outfit.
Fabregas has found his route to the first-team rather congested following the arrival of Napoli midfielder Jorginho and Real Madrid’s World Cup finalist Mateo Kovacic.
The resurgence of Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has only served to further complicate his route back into the Chelsea FC team under the Italian head coach.
The 31-year-old’s fortunes are in stark contrast to Kepa, who has established himself as Chelsea FC’s first-choice goalkeeper since his club record move in the summer.
Indeed, the Spanish shot stopper has excelled in the role despite having to deal with the pressure of being the most expensive goalkeeper in the world after Chelsea FC signed the Athletic Bilbao talent in a £73m deal.
While Fabregas hasn’t been afforded the same opportunity to shine on the pitch, Kepa has revealed that the World Cup winner is doing all he can to make an impression on Sarri on the pitch.
Asked during an interview with Chelsea FC’s website who has been the best player in training lately, Kepa replied: “Cesc Fabregas.”
Kepa is one of six Spanish members of the Chelsea FC squad to continue a strong Iberian theme at Stamford Bridge.
But the Spanish goalkeeper has revealed that he has struck up a friendship with his rival Willy Caballero as the club record signing shed light on their pre-match preparations.
“I sit next to Willy Caballero on away trips and behind Alvaro Morata,” Kepa added. “We try and arrange ourselves around the tables so there are seven or eight players chatting about the game, or as the game gets closer we concentrate and put our music on.”
Quizzed about the biggest joker in the Chelsea FC squad, Kepa revealed one of his compatriots helps to keep the spirits high at Stamford Bridge.
“Pedro – I think it’s the hot climate of the Canary Islands that makes him funny,” revealed Kepa.
