Chelsea FC look to have won battle to sign quality 20-year-old – report
Chelsea FC seem to have won the race to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, say reports
Chelsea FC appear to have won the battle to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues look to have won the race for the 20-year-old attacker’s signature after months of speculation about his future.
The same story claims that Pulisic is now “on the verge” of moving to Stamford Bridge. He is out of contract in 2020 and the German club are said to want to “cash in” now.
According to the same article, Chelsea FC are in a “hurry” to complete the deal as they look to try and get the transfer completed in January.
The article says that a price tag of £70m for Pulisic had been spoken about before, but the final fee is likely to be less than that given that his contract is set to expire in 2020.
The same story says that Chelsea FC have managed to get ahead of both Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the highly-rated USA international.
Pulisic has scored one goal and made two assists in seven Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
Chelsea FC are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as Maurizio Sarri looks to bolster his squad ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.
The Blues have made a fine start to the new season and are currently in third place and unbeaten in the Premier League.
