Sport Witness, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Chelsea FC boss is keen to try and bring the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge in the new year.
The same story says that Sarri has his sights set on trying to bring the France international to west London next year and is “concerned” about apparent interest from Bayern Munich in the player.
The article goes on to claim that the new Chelsea FC boss called Fekir to assure the midfielder that he would play a key role at the west London club should he sign for the Blues.
Fekir was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool FC this year but a transfer failed to materialise as he ended up staying at Lyon.
The attacking midfielder has made a solid if unspectacular start to the new Ligue 1 season, scoring two goals and making two assists in seven Ligue 1 games for the French club.
According to the same story, Fekir is still wanted by “several clubs” across Europe.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table and four points behind leaders Manchester City after an unbeaten start to the season in the top flight for Sarri’s men.
The Blues are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the January transfer window draws ever closer.
