Spanish media outlet Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Spanish champions are open to Dembele’s sale at the end of the La Liga season should the forward continue to toil.
The same article states that FC Barcelona have given Dembele a final opportunity to improve his attitude and professionalism following a disappointing start to the current campaign.
According to the same story, the La Liga champions aren’t optimistic that the 21-year-old will change his ways and the Spanish giants are prepared to offload Dembele for €100m (£88.7m).
Metro go on to quote other reports that suggest Liverpool FC are interested in the former Borussia Dortmund forward should FC Barcelona run out of patience.
Jurgen Klopp spent seven seasons in charge of Borussia Dortmund before the German head coach stood down at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Klopp took over the reins of Liverpool FC in October 2015 before Dembele moved to Dortmund from Rennes in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Given that the pair have Dortmund in common, Klopp could have insider knowledge of how Dembele operates because of his ties to his former German employers.
FC Barcelona signed Dembele in a deal that could creep up to £135.5m from Dortmund after the winger’s impressive debut season in the Bundesliga.
