The Reds started their Premier League clash looking to avoid a Champions League hangover following a 2-0 defeat by Red Star Belgrade in Serbia last week.
Van Dijk started alongside Joel Matip in the Champions League fixture and the Netherlands international produced what Michael Owen described as his worst performance for the Reds so far.
However, the 27-year-old bounced back in the Premier League fixture after the club record signing helped Liverpool FC to keep their eighth clean sheet of the Premier League campaign.
Van Dijk even played a hand in Liverpool FC’s opener after he instructed his team-mates to take a quick free-kick inside their own area as the home side went down the other end and scored.
Mohamed Salah’s opener settled nerves at Anfield before Xherdan Shaqiri extended Liverpool FC’s lead to secure their ninth Premier League win of the season.
Klopp’s men are in second spot and two points behind Manchester City to keep pace with the defending champions in the title race.
Former Liverpool FC defender Redknapp raved about Van Dijk’s following the Merseyside outfit’s straightforward win against Fulham on Sunday.
“Liverpool’s breakaway goal against Fulham looked like a great piece of quick thinking from Alisson. Watch the replay more closely and you’ll see it is Virgil van Dijk who tells his goalkeeper to take the free-kick quickly,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“A moment of ingenuity and leadership like this highlights Van Dijk’s value to Jurgen Klopp’s side. With every week that passes, the £75m man is proving he is worth every penny. ”
Liverpool FC spent most of 2017 pursuing the Netherlands international but Southampton managed to resist the Reds’ overtures.
However, Liverpool FC finally landed their top target to improve their defence in January after the Reds signed Van Dijk in a club record deal in January.
Van Dijk became the most expensive defender in the world after his £75m move to Liverpool FC.
The Reds will take on Watford in their next Premier League fixture after the international break.
