Gary Lineker credited Manchester United with another superb comeback after Wednesday night’s 2-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League.

The Red Devils made the trip to Turin looking to secure their first win since an opening day victory over Young Boys in Europe’s premier club competition.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Juventus at Old Trafford after Argentina international Paulo Dybala got on the score sheet in England.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo, who spent six seasons at Manchester United, broke the deadlock in the second half with a sumptuous finish.

Manchester United have come from behind in three of their last four Premier League games to collect seven points from losing positions.

And Juan Mata levelled with five minutes to go when the Spain international curled a finish past Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in Turin.

Manchester United went on to conjure a winner with a helping hand from Alex Sandro after the Brazilian deflected the ball into his own net from Ashley Young’s free-kick.

Former Tottenham striker Lineker took to Twitter to lavish praise on the Manchester United team for another resilient performance under Jose Mourinho.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Blimey, the @ManUtd comeback machine is switched on again.”

Manchester United started their clash against Juventus on Wednesday night in third place after Valencia eased to a victory over Swiss side Young Boys in the early kick off.

The Red Devils, though, ended the night in second spot and just two points behind group leaders Juventus ahead of their next Champions League clash against Young Boys at Old Trafford on Tuesday 27 November.

Manchester United have the small matter of a short trip across their hometown to take on derby rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
