Jurgen Klopp believes there is much more to come from Liverpool FC star Andy Robertson.

The Scotland international has made an exciting start to his second season in the Premier League after a return of three assists in the Premier League this term.

Robertson has made the left-back spot his own over the past 11 months in Klopp’s team after the Scottish defender managed to usurp Alberto Moreno in the team.

The 23-year-old has made assists in victories over West Ham United, Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Red Star Belgrade and Fulham to contribute to their unbeaten start to the season.

Robertson arrived at Liverpool FC with limited top-flight experience but the left-back has embraced the pressure of playing for the Reds, while the Scotland captain has made the step up to the Champions League.

However, Klopp, who has finally managed to address Liverpool FC’s defensive problems at the back, believes Robertson can make further improvements to his game.

“I don’t compare seasons, to be honest, but I’ve known Robbo now for one-and-a-half years and I feel that he’s at 75 per cent – maybe less – of what he can do,” Klopp told Liverpool FC’s website.

“There’s a lot of potential still. But it’s all good. He improved a lot but there is still a lot to come, he is still a young fella. There’s enough time for that.

“In specific games he is outstanding; sometimes he is not as much involved as we want him to be. The full-backs in whatever system we play have an unbelievably important role, not only in defending but especially in attacking.

“It’s normal that he expects more from himself and I expect more because it’s obvious there is still a lot to come.”

Liverpool FC are in second place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

The Reds will take on their bitter rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool FC have only conceded five times in 13 games in the Premier League this season, underlining their progress at the back.
