The Reds are on Manchester City’s coattails after 13 games in what has been their best-ever start to a Premier League campaign under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against Watford at Vicarage Road last weekend courtesy of goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
The Merseyside outfit are two points adrift of the Premier League leaders after the Pep Guardiola’s side were 4-0 winners against West Ham United in the English capital.
Manchester City have only dropped points in stalemates with Liverpool FC and Wolves, while Klopp’s side have also recorded draws with Arsenal and Chelsea FC.
Summer signing Shaqiri has helped to add more depth and invention to the Liverpool FC team since his £13.5m move to the Anfield side from Stoke City in the summer.
The Switzerland international has scored two goals and has made two assists in nine games in the Premier League to slot into the Liverpool FC team without any issues.
Shaqiri is confident that Liverpool FC can push Manchester City all the way in the title race.
“We’re going to be there until the end!” Shaqiri is quoted as saying by Goal.
“We don’t have to look to Man City, we just have to look to ourselves and try to give our good performance on the pitch and win games, that’s the most important thing.
“Every game has its own history and we have to look game to game and not look where we’re staying at the end of the season. When you win games like this, we’re going to fight to the end for a lot of things so I think we just have to keep going, keep working hard and win games.”
Liverpool FC have finished in fourth place in the English top flight in the last two seasons, while the Reds have never won the Premier League.
