The Switzerland international is just getting used to life at Anfield after having signed for the Reds from struggling Stoke City in the summer transfer window.
Shaqiri has made an impressive start to life at the Merseyside club and has looked solid whenever called upon by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
The 27-year-old has scored two goals and made two assists in nine Premier League games so far this season, although he has only started four times in the top flight.
Shaqiri was an Inter Milan player before signing for Stoke City back in 2015, and the attacker has now seemingly left the door open to a potential move back to Italy in the future, although he admits that he is currently happy at Liverpool FC.
Speaking in an interview with Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport as quoted by the Daily Star, Shaqiri said: “I had some good times there, and I couldn’t criticise Inter Milan ever.
“A lot of players joined in that winter, such as Podolski, Kovacic, myself, and a lot of changes were ongoing.
“Go back to Italy? I’m fine at Liverpool, but you never know.”
Shaqiri, who came on for the final 13 minutes of the 2-1 Champions League loss to PSG on Wednesday, will be hoping to be involved when Liverpool FC look to continue their fine Premier League form in the Merseyside derby clash against Everton on Sunday.
The Reds are currently second and two points behind leaders Manchester City.
