Man United urged to sell Paul Pogba in January
Paul Ince has his say on suggestions that Paul Pogba could be on his way out of Manchester United in January
Paul Ince has claimed that a January move away from Manchester United would “suit both parties”.
The France midfielder’s situation at Old Trafford has been a constant source of uncertainty recently and he has regularly been linked with a move away from the club.
The 25-year-old returned to Manchester United from Juventus back in the summer of 2016 but most Red Devils fans would probably agree that he has failed to find consistent top form for the club.
Despite this, Pogba has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first team this season, scoring three goals and three assists in 11 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s men.
He has also netted twice and made one assist in four Champions League games so far this season.
However, Manchester United legend Ince believes that the Red Devils should think about selling Pogba in January if the right offer comes in – as he feels it would suit both player and club.
Speaking in an interview with Paddy Power, Ince said: “I can’t say I’m surprised to hear about the Paul Pogba rumours, suggesting he’s interested in leaving Old Trafford in January.
“He said recently that he was happy at Manchester United, but I didn’t believe any of that.
“The club will have to think carefully about whether they’re happy to let him go, though I’d say his behaviour over the last year or so would make that decision easier.
“I believe a Pogba move away from United would suit both parties. If we’re being honest, he’s never settled on his return to the club.
“He’s been inconsistent in his performances, going from world class to looking bang average, and there’s always been whispers and transfer talk surrounding him in that time.”
Pogba will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils are looking to bounce back to winning ways after their disappointing 3-1 defeat by Manchester City in the derby before the international break.
