The Red Devils managed to secure their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night thanks to Marouane Fellaini’s last minute winner in their 1-0 victory over Young Boys at Old Trafford.
Manchester United boss Mourinho has found himself under pressure this season due to his side’s stuttering form in all competitions.
Indeed, the Red Devils are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table and 14 points off leaders Manchester City to leave hopes of challenging for the title in tatters.
Mourinho reacted to Fellaini’s winner on Tuesday night by hurling some sports drinks to the floor in celebration.
However, former Manchester United midfielder Scholes was less than impressed by the reaction of the Red Devils boss on the sidelines on Tuesday night.
Speaking to BT Sport immediately after the game, Scholes said: “I’m hoping that reaction is anger. I hope he feels angry about the performance. It wasn’t good enough.
“It’s always ‘I’ with Jose… ‘I won this title’…
“Last time I looked football was a team game. The way United are playing, he looks out of date.”
Manchester United will try and make it back to back wins in all competitions when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday evening in the Premier League.
