The Brazilian forward has impressed for Gremio over the past couple of months to prompt talk of a potential lucrative move to Europe.
The 22-year-old has been a key member of Gremio’s team following a return of 10 goals and three assists in 24 starts and three substitute appearances in the 2018-19 season.
An ESPN report last week suggested that Manchester United were monitoring Everton, who is thought to be valued at around £30m following his sparkling form.
The same article, written by respected Manchester-based journalist Rob Dawson, suggested that Premier League champions Manchester City are also interested in the Gremio attacker.
A potential stumbling block to a move to the Premier League could be Everton’s £60m contract release clause after the winger signed a contract that is set to run until 2022.
Asked about speculation linking Manchester United with a swoop to sign the Gremio forward, Everton told SporTV, as quoted by Goal:
“We all hear the rumours at some point, right?
“I’m going through an exceptional phase, and we know how hard it is when clubs from England look at Brazilian players, for their quality.
“Let’s see what happens at the end of the season, wait until it is over, and see what’s best both for me and Gremio.”
Manchester United have lacked invention in wide areas over the past season or so under Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho.
Anthony Martial has come to life over the past couple of months following a return of six goals in his last seven games in the Premier League.
Manchester United will welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
