The Evening Standard is claiming that the 29-year-old Chile international has grown frustrated about his lack of first-team opportunities under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford so far this season.
The same report says that Sanchez is prepared to “walk away” from Old Trafford if he is not given more chances in the first team by Mourinho at the club.
Sanchez was omitted from the starting line-up for Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League at The Etihad on Sunday and he has found his opportunities to be severely restricted this season.
The attacker has struggled to produce consistent form for the Red Devils since he signed for Manchester United from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Indeed, the former FC Barcelona man has only started five of Manchester United’s 12 Premier League games so far this season, scoring one goal and making two assists in a total of nine appearances in the top flight.
The same report suggests that despite Sanchez’s situation, a summer move away from Manchester United looks more likely than an exit in January.
It remains to be seen whether Sanchez will be restored to the starting line-up for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on 24 November.
