Italian website Calcio Mercato, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Andersen is attracting interest from the Premier League duo after an impressive start to the Serie A campaign.
The same article states that both Manchester United and Spurs sent scouts to watch Andersen in Sampdoria’s 1-1 draw with Genoa on Sunday evening ahead of a potential bid.
According to the same story, Sampdoria value the 22-year-old at around £25m after his impressive progress at the Italian club since a move from FC Twente in 2017.
The Daily Mirror adds that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to improve his defence following a disappointing start to the season.
Manchester United have conceded 21 times in 13 games in the Premier League in the current campaign, although the Red Devils were held to a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford last weekend.
The 20-time English champions have spent £60m on centre-halves since Mourinho took over the reins of the Manchester club from Louis van Gaal in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Both Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof have struggled to excel in the heart of the Manchester United defence since their respective transfers, although the Sweden international has shown signs of improvement.
