Man United want to sign 21-year-old Serbian – report
Manchester United want to sign Fiorentina starlet Nikola Milenkovic, according to a report in England
Manchester United are looking at a potential deal to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to a report.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Red Devils have earmarked the 21-year-old as a potential candidate to improve the Manchester United defence.
The same article states that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is interested in a swoop to sign the Fiorentina centre-half in the upcoming transfer window or at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
According to the same story, Fiorentina will look for a transfer fee around £50m to sell Milenkovic after la Viola turned down a £32m bid from an unnamed club in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Given that the Fiorentina star has three and a half years left to run on his current deal, the Serie A outfit will be in a strong position when it comes to negotiations with any potential suitors in the transfer window.
Milenkovic has scored two goals in 12 games in Serie A this season, finding the net in emphatic victories over Chievo and SPAL.
Fiorentina signed the Serbia international in a £4.5m deal from Partizan Belgrade in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Manchester United supporters will be hoping that their Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic can play a role in a potential swoop for the Fiorentina star.
The Red Devils conceded 21 times in their opening 13 games in the Premier League to raise questions about Mourinho’s defence.
Manchester United were held to a goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
