The Blues have made an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign after Maurizio Sarri took over the reins from Antonio Conte in the summer.
Chelsea FC have collected 28 points from their opening 12 league games, only dropping points in stalemates with West Ham, Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Everton.
The west London side are facing a defining run of fixtures in the season ahead of their trip to Spurs before a home clash against defending champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on 8 December.
Spurs have made a promising start to the Premier League campaign despite losing to Watford, Liverpool FC and Manchester City.
Tottenham were 3-1 winners against Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League in April and Spurs are looking to record consecutive victories against the Blues for the first time since 1987.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to ease to a 2-0 win against Chelsea FC at Wembley in Saturday’s late game.
“A lot has been made about Chelsea’s impressive start under Maurizio Sarri, but Tottenham are only a point behind them,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“If they win this, Spurs go above the Blues, which is an extra incentive – not that they need it, because there is not too much love lost between the two sides.”
Spurs have lost four of their seven Premier League matches at Wembley against top-six opponents since temporarily moving to the home of English football.
Tottenham have won their last six London derbies to build confidence and momentum ahead of Saturday’s top-four clash.
