Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool FC to ease to a comfortable win against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Merseyside outfit have made a promising start to the Premier League season after Liverpool FC remained unbeaten in their opening 12 fixtures in the top flight.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in second place in the Premier League table and two points behind defending champions Manchester City in the title race ahead of their trip to Watford.

Liverpool FC have made a marked improvement at the back after conceding just five times in their opening 12 games, while the Reds have netted 23 goals following their 2-0 win over Fulham last time out.

Watford managed to hold Liverpool FC to a thrilling 3-3 draw in their last meeting at Vicarage Road in the opening game of the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Klopp’s men have won three of their last four Premier League games against Watford, scoring a staggering 15 goals during that run.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing the Reds to beat Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

“Liverpool have failed to concede more than once in their last 15 Premier League games and it is their improved defensive displays that have led to the Reds going unbeaten in their first dozen league games of the campaign,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Watford have conceded 17 times in their last five winless games against Liverpool but they have improved this term, and this will be another stiff test of the Reds’ title credentials – an examination I expect they will pass in what promises to be a cracking game.”

Liverpool FC have won nine times in the Premier League season, while Arsenal, Chelsea FC and Manchester City are the only teams to have taken points off Klopp’s men.

The Merseyside outfit are two points behind leaders Manchester City but two points ahead of Chelsea FC in third place.
