The 27-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the Premier League season unless Arsenal decide to reignite negotiations with the versatile midfielder.
The Gunners withdrew a contract offer for Ramsey earlier this season after protracted negotiations between the north London side and the former Cardiff man.
Ramsey was handed the captain’s armband for the trip to Manchester United but the Welsh star was forced off the pitch at half-time due to an injury concern.
Unai Emery’s side managed to extend their unbeaten run to 20 games in all competitions thanks to a 2-2 draw with their bitter rivals Manchester United.
Ramsey has netted two goals and has made six assists in 18 games in all competitions to prove to be one of Emery’s most consistent creative players.
However, former Arsenal captain Adams has adopted a rather cynical view on Ramsey’s current performance level.
“He’s obviously playing really well because he is a free at the end of the season,” Adams told BT Sport on Wednesday night.
“He’s trying to get himself the best club possible, isn’t he? It’s a bit of a weird situation that.”
Ramsey has been linked with a potential move to their Premier League rivals Liverpool FC over the past few months.
La Liga giants FC Barcelona have also been linked with a surprise swoop to sign the Arsenal star.
