Dimitar Berbatov rates Arsenal, Liverpool FC title prospects
The Manchester United legend believes there are five teams involved in the Premier League title race
Dimitar Berbatov believes Liverpool FC are a “big rival” to Manchester City, but the former Manchester United striker also considers Arsenal, Chelsea FC and Spurs as title contenders this term.
The Reds moved to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday after Liverpool FC were impressive 4-0 winners against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick helped to hoist Liverpool FC to the top of the Premier League table before Chelsea FC were 2-0 winners against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool FC are a point ahead of Manchester City, while Spurs are seven points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side and Chelsea FC are a further point adrift in fourth place.
Arsenal are level on points with Chelsea FC following a 4-2 win against Tottenham earlier this month before a 2-2 draw at Manchester United last week.
Former Manchester United striker Berbatov believes there are five teams involved in the Premier League title race this season.
“Liverpool are a big rival for Man City,” Berbatov told Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday.
“We don’t like that but you need to give credit. They’re playing great football. They enjoy the way they play. It is good for the league.
“Now you have Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal all in the race.”
Liverpool FC have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season after Klopp’s side kept their tenth clean sheet of the campaign in a 4-0 win at Bournemouth.
The Reds have only conceded six times in the Premier League in the current campaign.
Defending champions Manchester City have netted 45 times in 16 games in the Premier League this term.
