The Gunners twice took the lead at Old Trafford but were pegged back almost immediately on both occasions as Jose Mourinho’s men managed to claim a point in front of their home fans.
Shkodran Mustafi gave the visitors the lead, but Anthony Martial levelled shortly after for the Red Devils in the first half.
Marcos Rojo scored an own goal under pressure from Alexandre Lacazette, only for Jesse Lingard to equalise almost immediately from the kick-off.
Kolasinac played the full 90 minutes for Emery’s men at Old Trafford as he made just his fifth Premier League start of the season under the Spanish boss.
And Emery revealed after the game that he was happy with the way the 25-year-old Bosnian performed at Old Trafford.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, Emery said: “Sead Kolasinac came off with his head down but I said to him he had a very good match in attack and you have to be positive and learn from this match.”
Emery continued: “I think we controlled the game, the second half better than the first.
“We could have won this match in certain moments, but they equalised very quickly after both our goals. We need to improve defensively, but we need to have balance and not lose our attacking chances.
“We perhaps lost a bit of control there but we created lots of chances after 2-2 and I am very proud of our performance. We wanted to win but we can feel this point is good.”
Arsenal will now turn their attentions towards trying to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Huddersfield at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and 10 points behind leaders Manchester City.
