The Gabon international has been settling into life at The Emirates after having moved to Arsenal in the January transfer window while Arsene Wenger was still in charge.
Aubameyang has been striking up a solid understanding with fellow forward Alexandre Lacazette at The Emirates in recent weeks.
Klopp knows Aubameyang well, after having coached the attacker during the pair’s time together at Borussia Dortmund.
And speaking ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening, Klopp underlined the respect he has for Aubameyang as a top attacker.
Speaking at a news conference at Melwood on Friday, Klopp said: “Outstanding player, outstanding person, really funny and nice guy.
“He has the mindset of a proper goal-scorer, always relaxed in front of goal. His combination of speed and finishing skills is pretty rare and makes him an exceptional player.
“He’s a threat in the big space and the small space and good at heading as well. It’s a nice package Arsenal bought there, and in combination with Lacazette is really difficult to deal with.
“They combine everything you could wish for with playing with two strikers. Very good combination.”
The Gabon striker was unable to prevent Arsenal from slipping to a damaging 5-1 loss to Liverpool FC on Saturday night.
Aubameyang will be expecting to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action on New Year’s Day with a home clash against Fulham.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery has been tasked with steering the north London club back into the Champions League after they finished sixth and without a trophy in Wenger’s final campaign at the helm.
Arsenal have missed out on Champions League qualification for the last two seasons running.
