Paul Merson is backing Liverpool FC to ease to a comfortable win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool FC have the second-best away record in the Premier League this season after collecting 20 points from eight top-flight games.

The 18-time English champions have only dropped points on the road in stalemates with Arsenal and Chelsea FC in London earlier this season.

The Reds have won four of their last six games in the Premier League to keep pace with Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Divock Origi netted a late winner to notch up a 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby last weekend before Liverpool FC came from behind to secure a 3-1 win at Burnley mid-week.

Liverpool FC eased to a 4-0 win over Bournemouth in their meeting at the Vitality Stadium last season to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to the Cherries on the south coast in December 2016.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes Liverpool FC will earn a 3-1 win at Bournemouth in Saturday’s early kick-off.

“Liverpool have got to somehow stay on the heels of Manchester City. It’s probably Manchester City’s hardest game this weekend so Liverpool have to make sure they win,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“I thought Bournemouth were very fortunate against Huddersfield. I fancied Bournemouth to win quite comfortably. They did win the game in the end but I do not know how? I have to side with Liverpool for an away win.”

Liverpool FC have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season after conceding six goals in 15 games in the current campaign.

The Reds came from 1-0 behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor courtesy of goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri.
