Eden Hazard has warned Liverpool FC and Manchester City that Chelsea FC will do all they can to run them close in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Hazard scored one and set up the other as he helped Chelsea FC to claim a 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Belgian set up Pedro Rodriguez for Chelsea FC’s opener in the 17th minute at the Amex, before Hazard himself got on the score-sheet in the 33rd minute.

Solly March netted for the home side in the 66th minute but Brighton were unable to conjure a winner as Chelsea FC claimed all three points.

The result left Chelsea FC in fourth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind Manchester City.

And Hazard – who scored his first goal for the Blues in nine games – has insisted that he and his Chelsea FC team-mates still have their sights firmly set on trying to win the title next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Hazard said: “We want to be top of the league at the end of the season. We know Man City and Liverpool are good teams – we don’t want the gap to be big.”

On his own performance, he continued: “I like to score, but it’s not important for me. The most important thing is to win games. I just enjoy my football and that’s why I’m on the pitch.

“I always play with the same ability and quality. As a winger and striker I just try to enjoy my football.”

Chelsea FC will host Bournemouth in the quarter-finals of the League Cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
