Chelsea FC eye January move to sign World Cup winner – report
Chelsea FC are keen on a move to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to reports
Chelsea FC are plotting a January move to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues are keen on a deal to bring the 25-year-old World Cup winner to Stamford Bridge during the mid-season transfer window.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri is keen to bolster his attacking options in the January window.
The same story reports that Liverpool FC agreed a £52m deal to sign Fekir last summer but a move did not materialise.
It is now being reported in the same article that Chelsea FC could look to complete a deal to bring Fekir to Stamford Bridge for a “lesser” price.
The same article claims that Chelsea FC will be hoping to pay less than £52m because Fekir’s current contract expires in 2020.
Fekir has scored four goals and made two assists in 12 Ligue 1 games so far this season.
The same story also says that Chelsea FC are keen on a move to bring Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge as Sarri looks to bolster his attack.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Boxing Day when they take on Watford away from home.
The Blues are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and 11 points behind leaders Liverpool FC.
