Cesar Azpilicueta has agreed a new contract with Chelsea FC, say reports
Cesar Azpilicueta has agreed to sign a new deal with Chelsea FC, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Spanish defender has committed his future to the west London club, shortly after N’Golo Kante signed a new five-year deal with the Blues.
The same report says that Chelsea FC are now working on “tying up lose ends” of the deal before making an official announcement in the coming days.
The 29-year-old has been a key figure for Chelsea FC over the past few seasons and he has started all 14 of the Blues’ Premier League games under Maurizio Sarri so far this term.
The same story claims that Azpilicueta’s new deal is thought to be worth around £150,000 a week and will run until at least 2022.
Azpilicueta has made two assists for Chelsea FC in the Premier League so far this season. He played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday.
The Spaniard will be hoping to feature for the Blues when they return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they travel to Wolves in the top flight.
Chelsea FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders Manchester City.
