Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC to return to winning ways when they take on Watford in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

The Blues are looking to bounce back after they slumped to a surprising 1-0 loss to Leicester City in the top flight in their final game before Christmas.

Chelsea FC will be aiming to return to winning ways as quickly as possible as they look to try and get themselves back firing and keep up their push for a top four finish.

The west London side are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table but are level on points with Arsenal, who are behind on goal difference.

Chelsea FC will travel to Watford on Wednesday afternoon as they look to try and get their form back on track.

And although Owen feels that the Blues are in for a stern test against the Hornets, he thinks that the west London side are likely to claim all three points.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “This is a severe test for Chelsea who need to win if they are to have any chance of making a realistic title challenge in the second half of the season given their home defeat to Leicester at the weekend.

“A rare clean sheet and three points for the Hornets at the London Stadium on Saturday, but I feel it will be the Blues who take the points home in what promises to be a Christmas cracker.”

Chelsea FC have been in relatively solid form since the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as the club’s new manager back in July – but there is the feeling that they are now more focused on finishing in the top four than competing for the title.
