Chelsea FC were 2-1 winners against Watford on Boxing Day courtesy of Eden Hazard’s 100th and 101st Blues goals at Vicarage Road last week.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have won four times in their last six games in the Premier League to remain on course for a return to the Champions League.
Palace secured a surprise 3-2 win against defending champions Manchester City at The Etihad last weekend to cause an upset in the title race.
Hodgson’s side are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games thanks to victories over Leicester and Manchester City before a draw with Cardiff.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is tipping Chelsea FC to edge to a comfortable 2-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
“Crystal Palace’s problem is scoring goals at home, even when they make loads of chances,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“I don’t see them making loads of chances against Chelsea, so I kind of look at this game and think ‘Can I really tip Palace to get a draw, or better?’
“No. I don’t see it. Chelsea had an off-day against Leicester last weekend, but that does not happen very often under Maurizio Sarri.”
The Blues are four points adrift of third-placed Manchester City as things stand.
