The Blues will be looking to build momentum in the top-four race following a mixed run of results under Maurizio Sarri over the past month or so.
Chelsea FC suffered a 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley at the end of November to end their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
The west London side have gone on to win four of their last six outings in the Premier League to remain in the top four but out of the title race.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City have beaten Chelsea FC to prove that Sarri’s side aren’t infallible despite hitting the ground running under the Italian.
Chelsea FC will take on a Crystal Palace side that sprung a surprise on defending champions Manchester City last weekend thanks to a 3-2 win at The Etihad.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes Chelsea FC will ease to a vital win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
“They are a bag of Revels at the moment, Chelsea – you don’t know what you are going to get,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“They go and beat Man City at home, then they go and get beaten by Leicester at home. I just don’t think Palace have the goals in them to get anything from this.”
Merson added: “The form that Eden Hazard is in at the moment I cannot see anything other than a Chelsea win. It will be a hard game, because Palace can make it hard for teams, but Chelsea will have too much.”
Worrying for Sarri and his Blues squad, Crystal Palace have won two of their last four games against Chelsea FC in the Premier League.
The west London side will be hoping to avoid successive away losses at Crystal Palace for the first time.
