Jose Mourinho has hinted that Manchester United are unlikely to make any new signings in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as they consider adding to their squad in the mid-season window.

Manchester United have made a stuttering start to the new season and Mourinho has been finding himself under increasing pressure in recent weeks.

However, Mourinho saw some of the pressure lifted off his side last week when a 1-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League secured Manchester United’s place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

With the Red Devils well off the pace in the race for the Premier League title, it is understandable that Manchester United are going to be linked with a number of potential new signings in the new year.

However, Mourinho has now suggested that he is unlikely to bolster his squad in the mid-season transfer window.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Carrington before Manchester United’s trip to Southampton, Mourinho said: ”Honestly, I don’t think we are going to sign [anyone in January].

“If we do, I would say one player. I don’t see us going more than that.”

Manchester United will take on Arsenal at Old Trafford on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
