Mark Lawrenson is tipping Chelsea FC to secure a 2-0 win against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are looking to secure a return to the Champions League in Maurizio Sarri’s first season in charge by virtue of a top-four finish.

Chelsea FC have managed to successfully bounce back from a 3-1 loss to third-placed Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley and a 2-1 defeat by Wolves at The Molineux.

The Blues became the first Premier League team to beat defending champions Manchester City this season after goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz sealed a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC followed up that impressive Premier League win with a 2-1 victory at Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend thanks to Eden Hazard’s man of the match performance.

The west London outfit are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions against Leicester to make Chelsea FC the firm favourites to win this weekend.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to ease to victory over Leicester at Stamford Bridge to cement their top-four challenge.

“Jamie Vardy’s persistent groin problem must be a concern for Leicester with the games coming thick and fast over Christmas,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“If you are flyer, which he is, then it is a bad injury to have.

“He missed Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat by Manchester City but could be back for this game.

“The Foxes look more dangerous when Vardy plays, but I can’t see him making too much of a difference here even if he is fit enough to feature.

“Chelsea seem to be back on track following their defeat by Wolves at the start of December.

“To finish in the top four you need the ability to respond to a poor result by putting together a run of wins. The Blues have clearly got that – and having Eden Hazard obviously helps too.”

Chelsea FC have won three of their last four Premier League games to move three points ahead of Arsenal.

The Blues finished outside the top four last season in Antonio Conte’s final campaign in charge.
