The Liverpool FC legend lavishes praise on Alisson after his incredible last-gasp save
John Arne Riise hailed Alisson Becker’s incredible save after Liverpool FC booked their place in the Champions League knockout stage thanks to a 1-0 win against Napoli.
The Reds looked to be on the brink of reaching the last 16 after Mohamed Salah scored a first-half opener to ease Liverpool FC’s nerves on another big European night at Anfield on Tuesday.
However, Arkadiusz Milik had a gilt edged chance to equalise in the third minute of added time and send Napoli through to the next round with just Alisson to beat.
But the Brazil international, who moved to Liverpool FC in a £67m deal from AS Roma in the summer, produced an incredible save to deny Milik at the death.
Champions League winner Riise, who was team-mates with Liverpool FC goalkeeping legend Jerzy Dudek, hailed Alisson as the best goalkeeper in the world.
Riise wrote on Twitter after Alisson’s save: “WE HAVE THE BEST KEEPER IN THE WORLD!!!! Wow!!!”
Tennis legend Boris Becker revelled in his namesake’s heroics as the German watched an enthralling Champions League clash.
Becker wrote: “#becker saved it… @LFC”
Alisson is starting to come into his own at Liverpool FC after the Brazilian number one produced a magnificent save in added time in a 1-0 victory at Burnley earlier this month.
The Liverpool FC shot stopper has kept 10 clean sheets in 16 games in the Premier League this season to secure the best defensive record in the league this term.
The Merseyside outfit will welcome Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
