Virgil van Dijk sends heartfelt message to Liverpool FC fans on Instagram

The Liverpool FC star is thrilled with his first year at the Merseyside outfit after his world record move in January 2018

Virgil van Dijk says he has “loved every minute” of his first year at Liverpool FC.

The Netherlands international completed a £75m move to Liverpool FC from Southampton in the 2018 January transfer window following months of speculation.

Van Dijk scored on his Liverpool FC debut in a 2-1 win against Everton in the FA Cup third round at Anfield to hit the ground running at the Merseyside outfit.

The 27-year-old helped the Reds to reach the Champions League final before Liverpool FC suffered a 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Kiev showpiece.

Van Dijk did manage to help Liverpool FC secure successive top-four finishes in the 2017-18 season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.

The addition of Brazil number one Alisson Becker has complemented Van Dijk at the back and the pair have helped to transform the Liverpool FC defence into one of the best in the league.

Liverpool FC are sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have conceded seven times in 19 games at the halfway point in the top-flight season.

Indeed, the Reds have kept an impressive 12 clean sheets to underline their staggering progress over the past year or so.

And Van Dijk took to Instagram to post the above clip on the social media site to celebrate the first anniversary of his move.

Van Dijk wrote on the photo-sharing app: “One year ago I joined @liverpoolfc It’s been an incredible year and I’ve loved every minute 🔥”
