Michael Owen is backing Tottenham Hotspur to ease to a narrow victory over Burnley at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs have endured a mixed couple of months in the Premier League but Mauricio Pochettino’s side have managed to maintain their top-four challenge.

Tottenham became the first Premier League team to beat Chelsea FC this season after the Lilywhites were 3-1 winners against Maurizio Sarri’s men at Wembley at the end of November.

However, Spurs lost 4-2 to Arsenal in the north London derby at The Emirates a week later, despite leading at half-time against their bitter rivals.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have regrouped to win their next two Premier League fixtures against Southampton and Leicester City.

Burnley, on the other hand, edged to a 1-0 win over Brighton to hoist themselves above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Tottenham to beat Burnley at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

“Burnley picked up a valuable three points at home to Brighton last weekend, but they continue to struggle away from Turf Moor, having picked up just six points from their last ten away league games,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Spurs’ confidence will be sky-high as a result of their 1-1 draw in Barcelona in midweek, a result which ensured all four Premier League sides would be in Monday’s draw for the last 16 of the Champions League. A comfortable home win for me.”

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season to continue their excellent record of finishing in the top four under Pochettino.

However, Spurs are facing a tough challenge to secure a Champions League spot this season amid competition from Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Arsenal for a top-four finish.

The north London side qualified for the Champions League last 16 last month thanks to a 1-1 draw with FC Barcelona.
