The Blues suffered a surprising blow to their top-four bid last weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City in front of their home fans.
Chelsea FC are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they aim to seal Champions League qualification, but Arsenal are now level on points with Maurizio Sarri’s men as the race for a top-four finish hots up.
The west London side will make the short trip to Vicarage Road on Boxing Day as they aim to get their Premier League form back on track.
And former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is fully expecting to see the Blues claim all three points in a narrow victory.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Watford had to do a lot of defending at West Ham on Saturday but they left with the points, and they are always capable of coming up with that sort of result.
“I just think we will see a big reaction from Chelsea in this game though, following their home defeat by Leicester.
“Blues boss Maurizio Sarri will have been very unhappy, to say the least, after that result.”
Chelsea FC are looking to at least finish in the top four this season after they ended up fifth last term and missed out on Champions League qualification.
The Blues won the FA Cup in Antonio Conte’s final game in charge before his departure in the summer.
