The Blues will make the trip to the promoted side in the Premier League in pursuit of successive victories.
Maurizio Sarri’s side suffered their first top-flight loss at the end of November following a 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
Chelsea FC bounced back with a 2-0 win against Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday thanks to goals from Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Blues hoisted themselves into third place in the Premier League table but Sarri’s side are seven points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
However, the west London side will take on a Wolves side that have only managed to earn one point in their last six Premier League games.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Chelsea FC to have success on the counter-attack against Wolves on Wednesday night.
“Wolves are a funny team because they look the part,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“I watch them and think to myself they are a good team but they’ve only got one point from their last six games. That sort of form is not the sign of a good team!
“Teams are getting used to playing against them now and they are closing Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho down quickly to stop them playing.
“Wolves will have a go against Chelsea but I think that plays into the hands of Maurizio Sarri’s side, who will pick the hosts off on a big open pitch.”
Wolves have managed to hold both Manchester City and Manchester United to draws earlier in the Premier League campaign.
Chelsea FC have won their last four games against Wolves, including a 2-0 victory in the FA Cup last season.
The Blues have scored 11 times in their last four meetings against Wolves and the promoted side haven’t beaten Chelsea FC since a 2-0 victory in January 2011.
