Ander Herrera has revealed how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been getting the most out of his Manchester United players this season.

The Red Devils have been in superb form since the Norwegian was brought in as the club’s new interim boss last month following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United have won all eight of their first games under Solskjaer to enjoy a perfect start under their new manager.

They continued their brilliant form on Friday night when they claimed an impressive 3-1 victory over Arsenal at The Emirates in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Manchester United’s strong performances have been a far cry from their stuttering displays under Mourinho in the first part of the campaign.

And midfielder Herrera has now delivered a glimpse into the way Solskjaer has helped to galvanise himself and his team-mates since his appointment at Old Trafford.

Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website, Solskjaer said: “Since the first day he arrived the message has been very clear: this is Manchester United and you have to show that you are Manchester United players.

“He asked us to show that, and that we want the ball even in the difficult moments in games. I think we have done that.

“Newcastle away, for example, is a really tough atmosphere, they are waiting every year for United to come so they can try to beat us, but I think the team reacted very well in the second half.”

He added: “It’s been very good.

“Everyone is happy and he has brought a lot of positivity into the team. He knows what Manchester United means and he wants the players to know that as well.

“We have [eight] wins in a row so we cannot ask for more, but we have to be prudent as we are in the middle of the season with a lot of games to play and we have a really tough schedule in February.”

Manchester United – who are sixth in the table – will return to Premier League action on Tuesday night when they host Burnley at Old Trafford looking to make it nine wins in a row in all competitions.
