Piers Morgan reacts to Aubameyang’s goal in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Cardiff
The Arsenal supporter revels in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 25th Premier League goal in Tuesday night's 2-1 win
Piers Morgan heaped praise on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette after the strikers continued their prolific form in a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
The Gunners were looking to get back to winning ways after Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss to Manchester United at The Emirtes in the FA Cup fourth round last week.
Aubameyang scored what ultimately proved to be a consolation strike to take his tally to 17 goals in all competitions ahead of the visit of Cardiff mid-week.
The Gabon international moved to within one goal of Egypt international Mohamed Salah at the top of the goal-scoring charts with his second-half goal.
Aubameyang finished from the penalty spot after Bosnia international Sead Kolasinac was brought down in the Cardiff area in the 66th minute.
The African striker is the fastest Arsenal player to reach 25 Premier League goals, quicker than Thierry Henry, Ian Wright and Alexis Sanchez.
Outspoken Arsenal supporter Morgan took to Twitter to react to Aubameyang’s goal from the spot.
Morgan wrote on Twitter: “BOOM! 1-0. That man again: @Aubameyang7 🔥🔥🔥🔥#afcvcfc”
The ITV host went on to single out Lacazette for praise after the France international doubled the home side’s lead.
Morgan added: “2-0. Brilliant goal by @LacazetteAlex – he’s such a clinical finisher. Really warmed to him this season. 👍 #afcvcfc”
Arsenal moved level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea FC thanks to their 1-0 win ahead of the Blues’ trip to Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
