Gary Neville is predicting a “sensational game” between Arsenal and Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

The Red Devils will make the long trip to Arsenal for the cup clash as Ole Gunner Solskjaer looks to win his eighth successive game in all competitions.

Manchester United have already secured one big win in north London after Marcus Rashford’s goal sealed a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley earlier this month.

Arsenal laid down a marker last weekend after Unai Emery’s men eased to a resounding 2-0 win against fourth-placed Chelsea FC at The Emirates.

Their comprehensive victory not only did themselves a favour but helped out Manchester United’s bid to finish in the top four after both clubs moved to within three points of Chelsea FC.

Neville is no stranger to Arsenal v Manchester United fixtures having been part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s team in 1990s and 2000s that had a bitter rivalry with the north London side.

The former Manchester United defender says he expects an enthralling game between the traditional rivals in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

“It’s a game I look forward to more than at any time in the last five or six years because I think Arsenal have got a different level of spirit about them now, they are invigorated,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“I saw their performance against Tottenham and last week against Chelsea, but what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done at Manchester United is fantastic and I think this will be a sensational game of football.”

Neville added: “Both managers will want to win the FA Cup because it would strengthen their positions within where they are at the club. For Ole, getting into the top four with a trophy would almost cement his role at the club next season, which would be wonderful for him.

“For Unai Emery, he has got to make that dressing room a winning dressing room and there’s nothing like putting a medal around your neck.”

Arsenal are in fifth spot in the Premier League table and ahead of Manchester United by virtue of their superior goal difference.
