Arsenal weighing up move to sign Chelsea FC defender – report
Arsenal are considering a move to sign Gary Cahill from Chelsea FC before the transfer window closes, say reports
Arsenal are weighing up a move to bring Chelsea FC defender Gary Cahill on loan before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the the Gunners are considering a move for the out-of-favour defender as Unai Emery looks for solutions to his defensive injury crisis.
Cahill has barely featured for Chelsea FC this season and the same report says that the former England international has “no future” at Stamford Bridge.
The same report says that Arsenal can only sign players on loan this month and that Emery is looking into whether they would be able to complete a deal for Cahill within the budget he has been set.
Cahill – who is out of contract this summer – has only made one Premier League appearance for Chelsea FC so far this season and that has been from the substitutes’ bench.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for some reinforcements before the transfer window closes as the north London side look to bolster their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.
The north London side will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to title challengers Manchester City.
