Arsenal to review Mesut Ozil future at end of the season – report
Arsenal will wait until the end of the season to assess Mesut Ozil's future at the north London club
Arsenal will review Mesut Ozil’s future at the end of the season and not this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the north London side are getting ready to assess the 30-year-old’s situation at the end of the current campaign rather than in January.
Ozil’s situation at The Emirates has been something of a source of speculation recently due to the fact that he has been in and out of the Arsenal team.
The playmaker has only started 12 Premier League games so far this season and has struggled with form and fitness issues.
According to the same story, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has welcomed Ozil’s attitude to stay at the club and fight for a place in the first team.
The same article says that the relationship between the Gunners boss and the midfielder remains good, despite their differences in opinion.
The same story does suggest that a big-money offer from one of Europe’s top teams could tempt Arsenal into selling Ozil this month.
However, it also claims that the Gunners are in no rush to sell Ozil and that they will assess his situation at the end of the current campaign.
Ozil could be set to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Blackpool in the FA Cup on Saturday.
