The north London side are likely to be linked with a number of players this month as Emery considers bolstering his squad during the half-way point of the campaign.
Chelsea FC defender Cahill has been touted as a possible target for the north Londoners in the lead-up to the new year, with the former England international having barely featured under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge this term.
However, Arsenal manager Emery has now appeared to reject suggestions that the north London side could be set to make a move to sign Cahill this month.
Asked directly whether the Gunners could make a move to sign Cahill this month, Emery replied as his post-match news conference at The Emirates on Tuesday: “We didn’t speak about him.”
Emery was speaking after watching his side claim a 4-1 win over Fulham in their first game of 2019 at The Emirates.
The Gunners boss was pleased to see his side return to winning ways after their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool FC at Anfield last weekend.
He continued: “We needed to win today. We spoke before in the dressing room about today being one day where we can be consistent here with our results.
“We knew that today we could win three points and that the three points would give us security in the table.
“We are behind the first four teams in the table, but we want to continue to be close and maybe in the future we can be in the top four if we take our opportunities.”
Arsenal will take on Blackpool in the FA Cup third round on Saturday night.
