Denis Suarez has informed FC Barcelona that he wants to move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the 25-year-old has made it clear to the La Liga champions that he wants to complete a switch to the Emirates Stadium outfit.

The same article states that the Gunners have made signing Suarez their number one priority in the January transfer window as Unai Emery looks to add more depth to his squad.

According to the same story, the north London side would be willing to sign Suarez on loan with view to a permanent deal in the summer.

Suarez has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the FC Barcelona team over the past two seasons.

Emery managed to secure Suarez on a loan deal during his stint in charge of Sevilla and the versatile midfielder had a successful 2014-15 season at the La Liga side.

The 25-year-old scored six times in 47 games under Emery as Sevilla managed to win the Europa League thanks to a victory over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of the top four in the race to secure a Champions League spot next term.
