Luciano Spalletti has insisted that Ivan Perisic won’t leave Inter Milan unless a club meets their valuation of the Croatian winger.

A BBC report on Saturday night claimed that Arsenal had made an offer to take Perisic on loan with the possibility of a permanent deal at the end of the season.

However, Sky Sport Italia, have reported that the San Siro outfit have rejected the north London side’s approach for the experienced Croatia international.

Perisic was omitted from the Inter team for their 1-0 loss to Torino on Sunday to fuel speculation surrounding the World Cup finalist’s future in Milan.

It has been widely reported that Arsenal manager Unai Emery is limited to making loan signings in the January transfer window.

However, Inter boss Spalletti appeared to rule out the prospect of Perisic leaving the Serie A club on loan this month.

“It’s quite simple. Players can say what they want, but they are employees, they have signed contracts and in order to leave, they need someone willing to pay for them,” Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Metro.

“You can’t leave for free and with your salary paid by someone else. If, as Beppe Marotta said, he doesn’t want to play, then clearly he’ll be left out.

“That’s not a problem for me. Someone who cannot contribute to the team has to stay out.”

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss to bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

The Gunners are in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of Chelsea FC.

Perisic would certainly add more creativity and firepower to Emery’s side, particularly in wide areas.

The Croatian winger has scored 34 times in 140 games in all competitions for Inter since his move from Wolfsburg in 2015.
