Arsenal keen on signing FC Barcelona attacking midfielder on loan – report
Arsenal are looking to try and sign Malcom from FC Barcelona on loan this month, say reports
Arsenal are hoping to complete a loan move to sign Malcom from FC Barcelona before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Arsenal have asked FC Barcelona to let them sign the 21-year-old Brazilian on loan during their recent discussions about the possibility of landing Denis Suarez.
Malcom has barely featured for FC Barcelona so far this season and has only scored one goal in 10 first-team appearances so far, starting just three games.
According to the same story, Arsenal are still interested in Suarez as the transfer window deadline draws nearer.
Despite Malcom’s lack of playing time this season, the same article says that FC Barcelona still value him highly and are “reluctant” to let him go.
However, it is suggested that the Spanish giants may be open to letting Malcom leave the club on loan to keep him sharp before a return to Camp Nou in the summer.
Arsenal are being linked with a number of players this month as Unai Emery looks to add to his squad before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Gunners are currently in fifth place in the table and three points behind Chelsea FC as they chase Champions League qualification this season.
