West Ham United starlet holding out for ‘dream’ Arsenal move – report
Reece Oxford is holding out for a "dream" move to Arsenal this summer, say reports
Reece Oxford is holding out for a “dream” transfer to Arsenal in the summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the 20-year-old has his heart set on a move to The Emirates despite the speculation about his future at the east London club.
The same report claims that Oxford would much rather stay at West Ham United this month and hold out for a move to Arsenal at the end of the season.
The article, however, suggests that West Ham United are keen to sell Oxford in January and are pushing for a move, with Borussia Monchengladbach said to be interested.
According to the same article, Oxford himself would much rather stay in England rather than return to Germany, having already spent two loan spells at Monchengladbach.
Interestingly, the same article says that Arsenal are “desperate” to bring in defensive reinforcements, but they may have to wait until the summer as they only have limited funds available in January.
Oxford has only made two appearances in the Johnstones Paint Trophy for the West Ham United Academy side so far this season.
According to the same story, West Ham are looking for a fee of more than £3m to let Oxford leave the club.
As well as the interest from Arsenal, the story claims that there are several other Premier League clubs, including Everton, interested in Oxford, whose current contract expires in 2021.
