The Evening Standard is reporting that the Gunners boss is eager to sign the 25-year-old to add more width to his Arsenal team in the second half of the season.
The same article states that Arsenal will have to pay around £20m to conclude a deal to sign the Spanish midfielder on loan for the remainder of the season before a permanent move in the summer.
According to the same story, Suarez is eager to reunite with Emery after the pair had a successful working relationship during the manager’s decorated spell in charge of Sevilla.
However, The Evening Standard goes on to suggest that Arsenal’s lack of funds could prove problematic if the Gunners want to sign the FC Barcelona utility player.
Suarez scored six times in 47 games during his season-long loan at Sevilla in 2014-15 when Emery was in charge of the Spanish club.
The Spain international has found his first-team opportunities limited at FC Barcelona over the past three seasons, making just 69 appearances.
Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of Chelsea FC, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
