Unai Emery is prepared to sell Arsenal star Mesut Ozil in order to raise transfer funds this month, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Arsenal manager wants the north London side to offload Ozil to generate transfer funds to allow Emery to improve the Gunners squad.

The same article states that Emery considers Ozil, 30, to be a “dispensable” member of his Arsenal squad, even though the Gunners made the German their best paid player last year.

According to the same story, the Spanish head coach doesn’t trust Ozil and Arsenal can still expect to garner interest in the World Cup winner should the Emirates Stadium outfit decide to sell.

The Daily Mail adds that Arsenal are hoping to sign FC Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez as Unai Emery looks to reunite with the 25-year-old Spanish midfielder after a stint together at Sevilla.

However, FC Barcelona are reluctant to send Suarez on loan to Arsenal without an agreement to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2018-19 Premier League season.

Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend after Declan Rice scored his first goal for the Hammers.

The Gunners are level on points with sixth-placed Manchester United after their fifth defeat of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
