Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are at the front of the queue to sign Carrasco from Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang.
The same article states that Arsenal can expect to face competition from bitter Premier League rivals Manchester United and Serie A giants AC Milan for Carrasco’s signature.
According to the same story, the 25-year-old is interested in a move to the Premier League following an 11-month stint in the Chinese Super League.
The Belgium international established himself as an exciting talent during his three seasons at La Liga side Atletico Madrid, scoring 23 times in 123 games.
Carrasco started his professional career at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and was part of their team that won Ligue 2 in 2012-13 to achieve promotion to the top flight.
The reported Arsenal target is a regular in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad after scoring five times in 31 games for the Red Devils.
Carrasco has scored seven goals in 25 games since his move to Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid in February 2018.
Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table ahead of their clash against West Ham United in Saturday’s early kick-off.
