Martin Keown has admitted that he is worried about Manchester United’s “new-found confidence” ahead of their trip to Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Gunners will welcome their traditional Premier League rivals to the Emirates Stadium with a place in the fifth round up for grabs.

Manchester United have won their last seven games in all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins from Jose Mourinho last month.

The Norwegian’s biggest success of his fledgling Manchester United managerial career came earlier in January when the Red Devils were 1-0 winners at Tottenham Hotspur.

Solskjaer has helped to get the best form out of big-name stars such as Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who were underperforming under Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United played out a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this season when the Red Devils came from behind twice to secure a point.

Former Arsenal defender Keown admitted that he is concerned about Manchester United’s irrepressible form ahead of their trip to The Emirates on Friday night.

“What worries me is this new found confidence Man United have,” Keown told Irish radio station Newstalk.

“Solskjaer has really put that into the club. They are playing with freedom. Pogba is roaming from midfield. They beat Spurs recently and were tactically brilliant.

“The manager showed he doesn’t just put smiles on faces, he is a real tactician.”

Previewing the game, Keown added: “I am hoping Arsenal can do what they have done to Spurs and Chelsea recently and win the game comfortably.”

Keown was part of the Arsenal team that lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final replay in 1999 after Ryan Giggs’ memorable extra-time goal.

Arsenal have won the FA Cup 13 times, which is more than any other club.
