The Reds head into the game on the back of their disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Wolves on Monday night.
That loss followed their 2-1 defeat by Manchester City in the Premier League last week.
Despite that defeat at The Etihad, Liverpool FC are still four points clear at the top of the Premier League table as they look to try and win their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are making the trip to the south coast on Saturday as they aim to get back to winning ways and continue their push for the title.
And former Liverpool FC star Owen seems to think that the Reds are well placed to claim all three points when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Liverpool have won all three previous Premier League games between the sides by an aggregate score of 10-1 although I don’t think the Reds will run away with the game at the Amex.
“Liverpool’s 21-match unbeaten run came to an end at the Etihad last Thursday, but they lost little in defeat and matched the champions toe-for-toe in an epic Premier League game between two of the best sides in Europe.
æThis was written before the Reds’ third-round FA Cup tie with Wolves and much has been made of Jurgen Klopp’s poor run of form in January in previous years.
“That will mean nil, however, when the players cross the white line. It might be tight and tense but Liverpool to return to winning ways for me.”
Liverpool FC came close to winning their first title under Klopp last season but they ended up losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid back in May.
